Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is an American British musician and sitarist. She won the British House of Commons' Shield in the year of her youngest and first female recipient. In addition to nine Grammy nominations and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the first Indian-born musician to present at and perform during the ceremony live. Anoushka Shakar, who is just a emerging superstar on the Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She's the daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She was born in London in 1982, and during her early years, she swam her time between London New Delhi. When she was 13 she staged her debut performance in New Delhi. At the age of 13, she finished her high school studies at Encinitas CA. Anouskha is still pursuing a successful career in recording and performing even though she's young. Since a while, she has been performing regularly with her father. She released Anourag her first album solo in 1998. The album was released in 2002. her Grammy award-winning album Live At Carnegie Hall. The stage is a very large part of her career. She's performed at many major venues all over the globe. Anoushka Shakar's work is not just limited to music. Bapi the Love of My Live, a picture-biography that is dedicated to her father Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. in 2003 she was a part as a character in Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka is continuing to advance on her path and will surely be new things that will be coming from this talented woman. Anoushka Shakar, born in England was a major part of her adult life in London Delhi. Following her move to California she completed high school. She started learning to play the guitar at the age nine and played the sitar for the 75th anniversary of the birth of her father in Delhi just four years after. The father of Anoushka travelled the world with her and she gained many experience. When she was still teenagers, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall during Peter Gabriel's WOMAD music festival. The House of Commons Shield was awarded in her honor by the British Parliament for being the most renowned Asian Arts musician. She is the sole female and youngest recipient of this distinction.
